Distance: 3.3 miles (from Taylor St) or
4.5 miles (from Falls Park)
River Features: During this section one
passes by Pendleton Reformatory (on the left). About
one quarter to one third through the trip the river
splits to go around an island. Where the split rejoins
one passes under a bridge for the reformatory, and
that is almost halfway through this section. Shortly
before the CR S 650 W bridge a small creek known
as Foster Branch joins the river from the right.
Hazards: Be aware that there are often fallen
trees blocking the river that may require a portage.
