79th
Street Bridge (in Marion County)
Parking: The easiest access to the river
is at the northeast corner of the 79th Street bridge,
where Indianapolis Public Works has a sewer lift
station and a gravel parking lot large enough for
about 6 cars.
Path to River: Access to the river is just
a 50 yard carry on a path down a grassy, gradual
slope.
River Access: Unless the river is very high
there is a large flat bank with room to linger and
load several boats. Also, at least 6 boats can be
put in the water at a time.

Additional Access
It is also possible to park behind/beside the Kroger
grocery store at the southwest corner of the 79th
Street bridge. There is plenty of parking available
in the northeast corner of their parking lot, but
a 50 yard carry through the weeds to the river makes
this alternate put-in less than desirable.
